Shipping your order

Many of our jewellery pieces are made to order. This means they are carefully crafted by Atelier Biru after your order has been placed. The average production time is 5 to 10 business days, including packaging and preparation for shipping.

You’ll find the specific production time listed in each product description.
If you’ve ordered multiple items, we will ship your order once all items are ready.

Shipping with PostNL

All orders — both within the Netherlands and internationally — are shipped via PostNL.
Once your parcel has been handed over to PostNL, you’ll receive a track & trace code by email to follow your shipment.

Please check your spam or junk folder if you haven’t received the tracking email.

Shipping costs

Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout, based on your destination.

Important: Your parcel is not insured by default.
Would you like to insure your shipment? Please email us at info@atelierbiru.com within 24 hours of placing your order.

Orders within the Netherlands

Your order will be delivered to the address you provided by PostNL.
Once your parcel is handed over to the courier, you’ll receive a track & trace code via email. Please check your spam or junk folder if you haven’t received the tracking email.

PostNL usually delivers within 2 business days after the tracking number is issued.
Once your order has been handed over to PostNL, Atelier Biru is not responsible for any delays, damage, or loss during shipping.

International orders

  • Customers within the EU and UK
    You can place your order directly through our website.

  • Customers outside the EU and UK
    If you live outside the EU or UK, please place your order by email: info@atelierbiru.com
    This allows us to calculate the correct shipping costs for your destination and provide you with a personalised order confirmation.

  • Customers outside the EU please be aware that your local custom duties, VAT % and additional charges are your own responsibility. Scroll down for more information on this subject.

International orders shipped via PostNL (the Dutch Postal Service).
Once your parcel is dispatched, you’ll receive a track & trace code by email. Don’t forget to check your spam/junk folder if the email doesn't appear in your inbox.

Once your parcel has been handed over to PostNL, Atelier Biru is not responsible for any delays, damage, or loss that may occur during international shipping. 

Customs & delivery delays (outside the EU)

Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs clearance, which can cause (significant) delays. This process is handled by the destination country’s customs authority.
Unfortunately, PostNL and Atelier Biru have no control over the time this may take. Please take this into consideration, especially when placing time-sensitive orders.

Customs duties, VAT & additional charges

As the buyer, you are fully responsible for any import duties, clearance fees, VAT/sales tax, or other additional costs that may be applied in your country. These charges vary by destination.

  • For UK orders under a value of  £135 VAT is collected at check out.
  • If you are based in the USA and would like to place an order, please email us at info@atelierbiru.com. This way we can calculate shipping, import duties and VAT for you as PostNL will take care of these in advance due to the recent new import rules.

We recommend contacting your local customs office before placing an order to avoid any unexpected charges.
